Our Weekend - Work Party

We had my work party over the weekend. It's always a good time and guaranteed for a laugh or two. This year we changed it up a bit. Instead of everyone bringing a white elephant gift to pass, Missy and I went and bought each of the guys a "gag" gift instead. It made for lots of laughs and the guys took their gifts with a grain of salt.

After eating and gift opening, we did a round of bowling before a few headed for home. The rest of us stayed back and played a few games of darts. Pretty soon the lights came on and it was time for us to go home.

While Kendall and I were out having some fun, Jake was at home having some fun himself. We had our neighbor, Madi come over to watch Jake. I found on Pinterest a fun gift idea where you put together a package of fun things the kid(s) and babysitter can do while mom and dad are out. The kicker, they can't peek until mom/dad are gone. Jake was so darn excited. We put a new movie, popcorn, and candy for them to enjoy while we were away.

Jake was upset when he woke up yesterday morning. He wanted Madi to spend the night! We've already got her set up to watch Jake again in a couple weeks. Feels good to find someone who Jake feels comfortable with and we do too. Madi is a good fit. We are lucky to have her so close.

Yesterday was a lazy day. I did round up enough energy to put together a crockpot meal for supper. Before we knew it, it was time to watch some football, even though I really wasn't rooting for anyone in particular. It's about the TV ads and entertainment, right?!?

Hope you all had a fun and safe weekend. Back to the grind this morning with work/daycare. We have Jake's school conferences tonight followed by a pre-kindergarten meeting. Otherwise the week looks quite with only work, daycare and school.
