I had taken the day off last Friday to chauffeur Kendall back from seeing the doctor in St. Cloud. He was past due on his upper GI scope by a few years. Because he was sedated during the procedure, he was unable to drive afterwards. Everything went well and the doctor was pleased with what he saw. From what he could see, nothing had changed from previous scopes. Those "pre-cancer" cells are still the same as they were years ago. Thank God!
Within 45 minutes, they called me back to sit with Kendall in the recovery room. He was hilarious with being so doped up on medication. He was so worried that he didn't swallow when the doctor asked him too when they were putting the scope down his throat. He couldn't remember anything and was in awe that he was already done. I wish I would have taken video of those first 15 minutes.
We did go out to eat after getting the okay to leave the clinic. Looking back, we maybe should have headed home instead of going to the Olive Garden. I'm sure people were wondering about Kendall. Not that he was stumbling, but you could tell just by looking at him things were right.
Once we got home from going out to eat, Kendall went right to bed and slept for over 2 hours. It did him good and he woke up feeling much better.
On Saturday, Kendall had signed up for the annual pool tournament in memory of our good friend, Jim who died 2 years ago from throat cancer. All procedes went to cancer research. I dropped Kendall off at the pub around 9:30. I joined him after lunch when Maddi came over to watch Jake. It was fun getting out and socializing again with people we don't see much anymore. During the silent auction, Kendall won a big popcorn machine and a popcorn bucket filled with all sorts of goodies.
Yesterday, the girls and families stopped by in the afternoon. I made up taco fixings for supper. Not sure why we haven't done that before with all of us. It was great and everyone loves tacos. Little Keean is obsessed with trains. Jake has a container filled with wooden trains that kept Keean busy for quite awhile. He's so darn cute walking around saying, "choo choo train." Ashley is feeling good and looking forward to having baby.
Hope you all enjoyed your weekend. We have a pretty quite week with the normal .... work, school and daycare. Thursday night we have Kindergarten Round-up at the school and this next weekend, we are going to Disney on Ice for the 3rd year in a row. Looking at weather, we won't be getting snowed in like last year.
