Saturday we spent some time at church in the morning with Jake's Sunday school class. The preschoolers were being presented with their first Bible on Sunday during children's time. Along with the 3rd graders receiving their new Bible without pictures. :) Pretty exciting! We were given Jake's Bible on Saturday so that we could write a special little note inside from Kendall and myself before Sunday's church service.
After church on Saturday, we made a trip to Randy's in Atwater where we store the camper over the winter. We thought we would get in one more weekend of camping but it never happened so over the week, Kendall cleaned and winterized the camper. While at Randy's, Jake made himself all at home. I'm not a "country" girl, but a few acres would be awesome for Jake to run around in. He loves exploring. Randy has chickens and a rooster that never stops crowing, 4 horses and 1 mule and lots of farm kittens. We left with a couple handfuls of rocks, a corn stock and dirt from head to toe. Boys!
After Randy's, we headed to Ashley's to spend the afternoon with them. Little Keean took a couple steps earlier that morning and he's walking around with his push toy. He's still having issues when trying to pass a stool. He cries so hard. Poor kid, hope they get some answers from his last biopsy on his intestines. We met up with DeLisa/family and Karole/Denny at the Legion for supper. Kendall decided to get his hands into a "few" pull tabs. It kept Jake entertained. I think once everything was said and done, he was up $70 with my big pull of $150! Here I thought I didn't have good luck. It was great getting together again with everyone. Wish we could have stayed the night.
Church yesterday was awesome. We let Jake pick were we would sit ... yep, you guessed it, front row! Our neighbor Pat was playing guitar with the church band. Love when they play up beat music. Jake was dancing away. All of us were asked to come up front during children's time so we as the parents could present our children with their Bibles. Lots of smiles were exchanged. Kendall sat with Jake during Sunday school. Kendall said he was able to sneak out half way through class and Jake joined right in while all the kids sang songs before heading to their class rooms. I look forward to when the three of us can meet and get involved so those uneasy feelings go away. Kendall is even thinking he may join the choir. haha
I made a pot of beef soup yesterday. The recipe belongs to Kendall's mom. The house smelt wonderful and the soup was really good. I even added a rutabaga which I have never tasted before. Looking forward to left overs this week.
This week is pretty quite with no school and only work/daycare. Thursday marks the 6th anniversary of my cousin Jonathon passing. Hard to believe that much time has gone by. We love and miss him terribly. One day we will all be together again. RIP Jon.
