Our Weekend - Father's Day & Fiesta Days

We made a trip back to Monte over the weekend to spend time with my dad for Father's Day. We got on the road by supper time on Friday putting us in Monte around 7. Mom and Jon had the food going and the grill ready. Of course, we over ate on the buffet mom had out ... pork chops, baked potato, corn on the cob, baked beans, and fresh fruit. Enough to feed an Army, but oh so good!

Saturday morning Jon, my dad, Jake and I headed down to the shop to see the new rebuilt train that my cousin Jim and dad built. Simply amazing! Jake was in 7th heaven. Papa gave him a ride in the parking lot and the okay to ring the bell. All Jake had been talking about prior to our visit was how he was going to be Papa's conductor. And boy was he ever.

Jon headed for home Saturday afternoon once my mom got home from working and Kendall from golfing in Granite. That night for supper, we grilled yummy McDonald's meat burgers. I told Kendall we must be getting old. Both of us were in our PJ's by 9pm on Fiesta weekend! A girlfriend text asking if we were going out and I responded, "We are party poopers. All ready in our PJ's!" Sorry Kristi, next time :)

Sunday morning after getting the pickup loaded, we headed downtown to the train depot. My aunt Debbie was in charge of setting up a little "craft" fair. We walked through the depot and said hi then headed across the street to see the "dining" car. Her and my other aunt Janet were busy girls getting the car all set up. It looked great. They are hoping to get it set up for people to rent it out down the road. How fun would that be with a fun group of friends/family.

Before we knew it, it was time to go see my mom on her morning break. It was great seeing some of my old coworkers/friends. Doesn't seem possible it's been 11 years since working there. We were on the road for Spicer at 11. We stopped by Ashley/Trevor's for lunch. Keean and I were busy pushing his toy tractor around and making truck sounds. Love that little boy.

Once we got home, Kendall started on the yard work and I on the piles of laundry. Doesn't seem possible how quickly that adds up. Yuck!

Hope you all had a great weekend. Looks like a busy week a head for us. 3 day business trip to TX for Kendall, no daycare on Thursday/Friday and work for me on Saturday. Oh and my parents 43rd wedding anniversary on Thursday!
