He's a growing boy ..... height - 3' 4.75" & weight - 36lbs. Right in the middle for his age group.
Poor kid was given 4 shots {DTAP, MMR, Varicella and Polio}. The plan was only to have one but his doctor mentioned, he would need them all by the time he starts Kindergarten anyways. Now he's good until he turns 12. He cried for a few minutes and wasn't too happy with the nurses. Which I don't blame him. Once he got to Sue's house, she gave him some lunch and a dose of medicine to help with the throbbing in his thighs. She said he took a good 30 minute nap and the rest was history. He was back to his young self.
At age 4 developmentally, Jake should be able to do the following:
- Name pictures in books --- He loves to point things out. {colors, people, numbers, letters}
- Tell a story --- He is constantly telling stories and using his imagination.
- Use the toilet alone --- He turns the light on, shuts the door and does his thing. {#1 and #2!!}
- Hops on one foot
- Use blunt-tip scissors --- Yeah, we need to work on this one! He's getting better. :)
- He knows the ABC's and upper/lower case letters by pointing them out.
- Counts up to 20 and can identify up to 10 for sure but has gone to 20.
- Spells his name out and uses magnate letters to spell out his name.
- He knows his last name by saying it :) Poor kid!
- Knows what town he lives in. And where Papa/Grandma live too.
- Loves to run, climb and explore.
- Loves riding in his "Flintstone" car and drive his Gator around the neighborhood.
- He's a pro on the computer {I-tunes and PBS kids are his favorite}.
- His favorite color is red.
- He loves to eat pancakes, french toast, chicken nuggets, french fries, sloppy joes and pizza. He still is a water, milk and OJ drinker.
- Mr. Social with all the neighbors, people on the street while out for a walk or bike rides.
- He's bull headed like his mama! He knows what he likes and doesn't.
- Loves helping around the house.
- Can watch the following over and over ... Cars, Ice Age, Alvin/Chipmunks.
Yesterday afternoon while we were watching the Vikings game, Jake was in our bedroom watching what I thought was cartoons. I went back to check on him and he's under the covers up to his chin. I asked if he was cold and he said, "no, this is a scary movie!" Here he was watching the FX channel and some Alien vs Monsters movie was on.
