Ahoy, Matey!
We celebrated Jacob's birthday over the weekend back in Monte. Our theme this year ... Pirates! Jake's world is all about pirate ships and the cartoon, "Jake and the Neverland Pirates."
The garage was decorated with red table clothes, black/white balloons, fish net, 6 ft blow up Pirate and of course, chocolate gold coins.
We kept the meal simple ... Hamburgers & hot dogs on the grill along with all the fixings. A variety of chips/dips, a fresh veggie and fruit trays. For desert, I made cupcakes decorated with white/chocolate frosting topped with a gold coin and served with ice cream cups. Simple yet, FUN!
After lunch was served, Jake sat down and opened gifts. He sure is a lucky boy! We are so thankful for the friends and family that were there to help celebrate. Jake received toy cars, a Cat loader, a couple outfits, dry erase board & markers, batman tattoos, money for his piggy bank, books, bowling pass, a hopper, and a remote controlled car.
The day turned out perfect! Long but wonderful! Both Jake and I were in bed and sleeping by 8:30pm. A big Thank You again to the family and friends who made Jacob's birthday so special!

** Before Leaving for Monte **
Instead of lunging Jake's birthday gifts from us to and from Monte, we had him open them a day early at home. We got him a Crayola easel, washable markers, large paper pad, washable paints and brushes. Then for make believe play ... a Batman mask and cape.
