Our Weekend - Games Lake Camping

We spent the weekend at Games Lake near New London. Friday nights weather wasn't the greatest, but after the showers and clouds move through, it left Saturday and Sunday beautiful. Taking the camper out again was much needed. With it only being our second time setting up the camper things went really smooth. We have our system down pat. Kendall even mentioned making a "list" of the step by step instructions how set up and tear down. I had to laugh at that one, I think my "togetherness" has rubbed off on him!

Beings we were back in the Spicer area, we had a few visitors stop by. Friday night our good friend Al drove his 1959 El Camino over. It was great catching up with him and seeing a smile on his face again. His visit was cut short with the rain moving in.

Saturday morning, brother Randy stopped by for a few hours. It's always a good laugh when he's around. Both him and Kendall are good at telling stories. Half of which you know you can't believe. After Randy left, we ventured down to the beach. Jake of course ran right into the water. We still need to work on getting his face wet. He acts like he's melting when water hits his face. Swim lessons this winter will be a good thing!

When we were at the beach, Kendall's good friend Dean drove in so we walked back to the camper. Before we knew it, it was time for supper. Tonight's menu ... Steaks on the grill! The remaining of the night was spent inside the screened tent enjoying the LP fire pit. We looked like a bunch of "city slickers" sitting by a gas fire and protected by bugs. We even had a fellow camper stop by and check things out. Her and her husband were wondering if we had lost our minds having a real camp fire inside a tent. Glad we could ease her worries.

Sunday morning, we packed things up and decided to take one last dip in the lake before heading home. The water was so clear! Hated to leave. We're hoping to get one last trip to Games before Fall comes. Once we got home and unpacked, we rested and enjoyed the rest of the day at home.

Thank goodness for the couple loads of laundry ... I got another page done in Jake's scrapbook :)
