Our Weekend - Father's Day

We had a wonderful Father's Day weekend despite not seeing my dad. We decided to stay back and make the trip to Monte this weekend. Both my parents worked so we wouldn't have seen much of them if we had made the trip. I've never not seen my dad on Father's Day. :(

On Saturday morning we packed up the cooler and headed to Spicer (where it's nicer :)) We were long over due to see baby Keean again. We spent the whole day at Ashley/Trevor's house. Grilled burgers on the grill for lunch. That afternoon, Trevor took their older kids to the go-cart races for Landon's birthday gift while the rest of us stayed back at the house. I held/rocked Keean while Jake took a two hour nap! I sure miss the baby stage. He's so little. They have been having issues with what formula to use. Keean has been spitting up most of it and actually weighs less than he did at birth. But with a few help/suggestions from their doctor and friends, they might have found the right one. Keean actually drank 3 ounces at one setting. He hasn't done that since being in the hospital.

Yesterday Kendall went golfing in the morning before Jake even got out of bed. I got the weekly cleaning done right as Kendall was walking in the door from golfing. The rest of the day was spent outside. Kendall took Jake on a golf cart ride around town hitting a couple parks. Whatever Jake was doing, Kendall was asked to follow. After about 50 trips down the slides, they headed for home. Adrien stopped by on her way home from Duluth. She was planning on running in the marathon but decided not to with the 47 degree temps, rain and wind. She didn't want her first marathon experience to be horrible. After she headed for home, we spent some more time outside before bath time. Before bed, Kendall said, "it was a great day!"

Oh, I forgot to mention the 3 kids bought Kendall a father's ring with their birthstones along with Danielle's. It turned out so nice. Had to bring it in for a fitting and will pick it up on our way through this weekend. Along with the ring, they bought him a tie pin with the same stones. Year after year it's getting harder to find something for Kendall, but with his job and personality, this year's gift fit him perfectly!

Happy Father's Day to all you wonderful dads!
