Just Another Two Months Behind - November and December

Where have the past two and a half months gone? I actually had to pull out last years calendar to make sure I didn't leave anything out.

November -
We made a trip to Monte the first weekend to celebrate All Saints Day at church. Jon was on the list of Saints who passed away in 2013. Was a weird and erie feeling hearing his name being read. Glad we could go as a family to help celebrate Jon and all those who have passed.

Kendall and I were invited along with Kendall's boss and others to the musical We Will Rock You being played at the Orpheum. The show was great even though our seats were one row from the last. Before the show we met up at the Local. What a fun atmosphere! Would love to go back there if we ever are in the area.

Thanksgiving -
We spent a few days at Ashley and Trevor's. They hosted our family and the girls' mom Debbie's family. We tried a deep fried turkey this year. It was so good. Missed out on the gravy but the turkey was delicious. I thought it would be fun to make up a few thanksgiving themed photo props. Everyone chummed right in like they were having fun even if they thought it was silly.

After a few days in Spicer, we headed for Monte to spend the weekend at my parents house. We went out for lunch with my mom and on our way to the house we made a pit stop at Ruether's. While down there visiting, Jacob proceeded to get sick. Thinking it was maybe a bad lunch, we headed up to the house to chill out. Thought we were in the clear until right before supper when he said he was going to get sick again. So for the night and most of Saturday we spent our time hiding out in Jon's old room watching movies on the computer staying away from everyone else. I was grateful that he felt better that we could enjoy mom's Thanksgiving meal and no one else got sick either!

December -
We went tree hunting out at Jan's Cut Your Own this year. It was chilly but lots of fun. We found a nice sized tree. With it being cooler out the line for a horse drawn carriage ride were short we tried that out this year. Jake had a fun time and thought the horses were really cool. When we got home, I got to work and decorated the tree. We kept the decorations to a minimum this year with us being gone over the holiday.

We made a quick weekend trip back to Monte since we wouldn't be back until our Moe Christmas in January. I couldn't stand waiting that long especially now with Jon gone. All I want is my parents to be okay. These firsts are not much fun without Jon.

For Christmas with the kids this year we decided on a trip to Florida instead of worrying about buying gifts. The stress relieve was awesome! We spent a whole week in Fort Myers at Trevor's moms Florida home. We packed all 13 of us in there just fine. Jake did so great with his first time flying. Finally we could say yes to us not being in Minnesota. The whole week we spent relaxing at the beach, by the pool, in the screened in porch. Us girls went and got our toes done one morning. The guys were going to go golfing but at the cost of $100 per person they said no way. It was a great family vacation!!

After spending a night in our own beds we were on the road again to spend the weekend in Monte for the Moe Christmas. The weather was horrible so my sister in law, Kim couldn't make it. Many tears were shed with her not being able to join us. This year with Jon being gone my sister found a lady near Monte who makes teddy bears out of the loved ones clothes. Kim had one made for each of us. It was the best gift ever!!

Well that is how our last two months have been spent in a nut shell. Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas.
